ICG Recruitment 2023: Educational Qualification
Educational Qualification:
Commercial Pilot Licence (SSA):
- Passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects.
- Minimum 55% marks in each subject (Physics and Mathematics) in 12th class.
- Candidates who have completed a diploma are eligible if they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics.
- Should possess a current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of application submission.
Technical (Mechanical):
- Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the engineering degree.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme with minimum 55% marks in each subject.
- Candidates with graduation after a diploma are eligible if they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics.
Technical (Electrical/Electronics):
- Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the engineering degree.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme with minimum 55% marks in each subject.
- Candidates with graduation after a diploma are eligible if they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics.
Law Entry:
- Degree in Law from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
General Duty (GD):
- Degree from a recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme with minimum 55% marks in each subject.
- Candidates with graduation after a diploma are eligible if they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics.
Cadre-wise Age Limit:
- General Duty: 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023.
- Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL-SSA): 19-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023.
- Technical (Mechanical / Engineering / Electrical): 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023.
- Law Entry: 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023.Selection Process:
- Screening Test: This is the initial stage where all the received applications are reviewed. Eligibility criteria and basic qualifications are checked to shortlist candidates who meet the requirements.
- Preliminary Selection Board (PSB): Shortlisted candidates undergo various tests. These tests evaluate their mental and physical abilities, including intelligence tests, psychological tasks, and physical fitness assessments.
- Final Selection Board (FSB): Candidates who clear the PSB move on to this stage. Here, they undergo a more comprehensive evaluation, including group tasks, interviews, and more in-depth psychological assessments.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who successfully pass the FSB have a thorough medical examination to ensure they meet the required health standards for the position. This includes both physical fitness and medical fitness.
- Induction: Candidates who clear all the previous stages are finally selected and inducted into the Indian Coast Guard as Assistant Commandants. They start their training to become effective officers.
